How an entry becomes a previous record

Awaiting
Before 12:35 IST the current date has no archived value. The site shows it as awaiting rather than blank, because "not yet" and "no data" are different claims and collapsing them misleads a reader.

Compiled and cross-checked
The entry is compiled from publicly circulated listings and must match across at least two independent public sources. Where they disagree, nothing is published and the date stays visible as a gap.

Settled into the archive
The entry joins its month page, its year grid and the frequency counts in the same pass, so every view of the archive moves together rather than drifting apart.

Frozen
When the month closes, its page is frozen at a permanent address. Later corrections are published as dated notes on that page, never as a silent edit.
What previous records can and cannot tell you
A previous record is evidence of one thing only: what was published for one date. That makes the archive useful for looking something up, citing it, and checking it against another source.
It does not make the archive predictive. Each entry is independent of the ones around it, and no amount of arrangement changes that. The statistics page counts what has already been recorded; it is a description of the past, not a forecast, and nothing on this site should be read as one. What counts as a previous record?
Any entry for a date earlier than today that has settled into the archive. The current day is not a previous record until its entry settles at 12:35 IST; until then it is shown as awaiting rather than given a value.
Are old records ever deleted?
No. Once a month closes, its page is frozen and stays at the same address permanently. Removing or rewriting an archived page would break every citation pointing at it, which defeats the purpose of keeping an archive.
How do I find the record for one specific date?
Open the year, then the month, then read down to the date. The month page lists every date in that month as its own row, so no searching is needed once you are on the right page.
